Oh No I have won another award. “CEO of the Year 2018” for my hard work and dedication to Icebreaker Executive Management. “Our 2018-year recipients have been handpicked by CEO Monthly magazine based on the comprehensive analysis and research undertaken by the wider group. Winners are chosen purely on merit, with our winners decided through a combination of votes gathered from our network of respected industry partners and our own rigorous in-house research. Thanks to this rigorous process nothing is left to chance, and as such we carefully scrutinise everything from a nominee’s region to their performance over the past 12 months, their commitment to innovation, their methods and even their competition to ensure that only the most deserving names walk away with one of our prestigious trophies.” Thanks anyway, but I don’t welcome awards. Why? Because many of the businesses i have led have won awards and awards create exactly the wrong mindset for this environment: pride and complacency, when hunger and passion are far more effective. If you have not already, I would far rather you engaged in the winningthinking.uk program, its achieving some brilliant results well beyond my expectations… cheers Tom
